God is in the Details

This door is built from Redwood planks, with bronze and hammered steel hardware. The thing that makes this door interesting is: it was built for security. It is on a cabin in the mountains 25 miles from pavement. The cabin is a dovetailed 10” x 12” redwood cant; truly a cool place in a beautiful location where the elk loiter and conventional services don’t exist. This place was built to keep honest people honest. Behind the Redwood skin of this door is a steel plate, and on the other side of the steel plate, another redwood skin. It is the kind of door that bullets won’t penetrate and honest people could never break into. The multipoint hardware system secures the door in several locations around the door. The windows on this cabin are covered with shutters build the same way.
